Valentine's Day

I have no pictures. I'm such a failure... ;)

Valentine's Day was pretty low-key for us this year. We've been passing the flu around our family the last few weeks (thankfully, Peyton didn't get it, but the rest of us were not so lucky). I hear it's a frustrating flu season for victims this year since the flu vaccines aren't stopping the strain that's making the rounds. So, wash your hands and bone up on your vitamin c, because you don't want this junk, trust me!

Anyway, since we stayed low-key, Dane took me out for a comfort food dinner. Nothing makes you feel better like chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes and fried okra :) We got the girls some chocolates and new Valentine jammies :) It was a good day all in all.

This weekend was busy. Peyton joined me for Children's Ministry Day. It was put on by the WMU (Woman's Mission Union) and I was in charge of the prayer booth. We had lots of kids from area churches who came to participate in all kinds of missions projects such as writing letters to the Troops, building snack kits for a local homeless shelter, making cookie kits for a local orphanage, etc. Peyton had a great time and I was glad she was getting her feet wet in what missions can be about. And no, I didn't have my camera with me, so no pics of that either.

Yesterday, we went to church with our buddy Britney (Courtney's older sister). We hadn't seen her in a while and she's had some BIG changes and wonderful opportunities come up in her life lately and we just wanted to be there and encourage and visit with her. She attends the neatest church in Canton. We've been there a few times and it's always such a blessing to be there. Their church is modeled after the church in Acts, and it's so awesome to see that in action every time we visit.

That's it for now. I'm crazy busy at work right now from being gone so much thanks to illness. Hope everyone is doing well!

Love,

Marni

I couldn't agree more with your comment... I don't know why we've been so afraid of what we say in our prayers. It is as if I have been living a lie when it comes to my prayers.
