She's a BIG star! :)

As many of you have heard me say, we had many blessings come from our journey with cancer. One of them is Adrienne (or Ade as we lovingly call her). Ade and her sister Emily have been very close friends with Britney and Courtney Howard since they were all kids. And it was through my girl Courtney, that I met my girl Ade. I had been hearing about her for months. Courtney kept saying, "you've got to meet my friend Ade. You'll love her. She's AWESOME!" A few years back, Courtney was in the hospital on Easter Sunday and we were up visiting her, and in walks this tiny red-head with a smile that lit up the room. She said, "Happy Resurrection Day everybody!" and I knew we'd be friends forever. And Court was right, Ade is so awesome!

We've been praying for Ade the last few years. She's a pro golfer and she's trying to get on the LPGA. She's been so close, but God hasn't made that dream come true yet. So...imagine our pride and excitement when she called us right after Christmas to tell us she'd just got back from Hawaii where she'd been filming episodes for the golf reality show, Big Break!!! A few months back, Dane was caddying for her at one of her tournaments and they got rained out, so she tells Dane there is a tryout for the Big Break that day, so they headed over and she interviewed. Soon after, they called her back to let her know she was selected to be on the show. So mere weeks before her wedding to the man of her dreams, she was off to Hawaii to film!

On Tuesday night, the Big Break Ka'anapali debuted. Cedar Creek Golf Club hosted a watching party. And it was AWESOME to see Ade on TV!!! She was so classy (like always), focused (like always) and she pretty much single handedly put her team in first place (duh!) :) She can't tell us how she did in the overall game because of the non-disclosure contract she signed, but my money is on her :) If she wins, she gets $20,000, a BMW, and most importantly, an exemption to get her into the LPGA. We are SO excited for her.

If you get the Golf Channel, the Big Break episodes she's on are on Tuesday's at 9pm. Go check her out. If you don't get the Golf Channel, I linked to the website above and you can see some video clips of her in action. Just type in Adrienne in the search box.

Also, she sent me a newspaper article someone sent her from South Carolina where she is a U of SC alumni. So click here if you'd like to read the article.

And here are some pics from the watch party. Love you all. Hope it's a great day!

Peyton and Aryan. When Adrienne married Brent, she also became an instant mommy to Aryan. She and Peyton had so much fun at the watching party!

Peyton and Britney :)

Peyton and Ade. I took a few pictures and Peyton insisted on goofy faces in all of them. But then again, Peyton and Ade are ALWAYS goofy acting when they're together!

Prom dress!

God is good. I'm not throwing that out there lightly either. Those of you with teenage daughters might feel my pain on this, but shopping for a specialty outfit--namely prom--can be a daunting experience.

All week I'd been letting myself stress out over the shopping trip. I just KNEW we'd have to go up into North Dallas. I just KNEW we'd be shopping all day (and maybe not even find a dress) and I just KNEW Lindsay and I would irritate each other as we shopped. Praise you God, I was WRONG!!

Lindsay found the dress in Arlington. She found it in under half an hour. We spoke nothing but kind, encouraging and agreeable words to each other. It was a miracle in other words! Lindsay did try on several dresses, but she ended up going with the first one she tried on. Then, I panicked. I assumed she picked up on my stress this week and was just trying to be nice and pick out a dress quickly whether she liked it or not. She assured me she loved the dress and it was perfect. The fact she found it the first minute at the first store was just a happy bonus for her!

I'm not posting her in the actual dress because she didn't have the whole hair and makeup to go along with it and would be annoyed if I posted the picture without the full effect, but here is what the dress will look like...except prettier because it will be on her...

We're now on the hunt for the perfect shoes and jewelry. But the rough part is over...except for the part where Dane and I send our baby off to her first prom...

And speaking of prom, here is Colton. His prom was this past weekend.

Paige's is next weekend, so I'll have a pic or two of her later.

Not a "Sunny" Day for Beth Moore

UPDATE: Sunny came home!!! Yea for Beth Moore and for God!

I just love Beth Moore. If you don't know who she is, she writes wonderful Bible Studies. God has blessed her immensely in taking scripture and putting it lay terms and digging out treasures from it that I had not discovered on my own. Some of her studies and books have been used by God to see me through the roughest seasons of my life, and for that I will always be indebted to her. I wrote her a few years back to thank her for her Patriarchs study as it was helping me deal with Courtney being so sick. She wrote me the kindest and most encouraging letter back and endeared herself to me even more...if that was even possible.

So imagine my sorrow for her today when I log on to her blogspot and read her beloved dog Sunny is missing. (You can click here to read the story). Sunny showed up on the Moore's doorstep one day and proceeded to see Beth through a profound season of loss, so as you can imagine, she's so upset at Sunny being lost. Bless her heart, Ms. Beth is keeping this in perspective as you'll read on her blog, but as someone who's had a beloved pet go missing, I feel her pain.

If you can, go by her site and drop her a word of encouragment, or simply say a prayer for Sunny's return, or peace for her and her family if that isn't God's will for this situation.
